The genesis of Karma411

2000: A strong partnership

Karma411 co-founders Mark Fasciano and John Murcott have worked together in technology arena for more than ten years. They began by co-foundeding FatWire Software, which they sold in 2007 (Fatwire was eventually acquired by Oracle). Being serial entrepreneurs, they wasted no time in pursuing their passions and new technology endeavors. It was not long before inspiration came again.

2003: The birth of an idea

Locals of Long Island and very involved in community life, Mark and John are active supporters of several nonprofits and quickly learned two lessons: 1) raising money for a cause is difficult and expensive and 2) friends help friends first, and institutions second.

They asked the question, "What if technology could enable organizations to leverage the personal networks of their most active supporters, allowing the supporter, rather than the institution, to reach out to new donors?"

2008: The genesis of Karma411

Mark and John had identified a need that they could fill and with their passion and expertise, they took the entrepreneurial plunge once again founding Karma411.
